Greed Devotional: Tuesday, March 1
Pray that the Lord will lead you to be rich in good works.
Read 1 Timothy 6:17-19: As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
56% of the world’s population survives on less than $800 a year that’s $2 a day? Now with that quick statistic in mind think for a moment how rich you actually are compared to many struggling world-wide.
In what ways do you set your “hopes on the uncertainty of riches” and not on God?
Do you ever think that God is the One that blessed you with the opportunity to have the things that you have?
Pray that the Lord will give you a desire to be generous (6:18).
