Sermon Snippets: 12 August 2018
We cannot grow spiritually if we’re not connected relationally.
We need to be connected relationally to God and to people.
God wants us to stir one another up toward Him. We should be actively motivating one another to love God and love others. That happens in community, that happens when we’re a part of and actively engaged in the life of the church.
And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:24-25).
We cannot grow spiritually if we’re not connected relationally. We need Christian community. And the Christian community needs us too.
Being invested in community means that you care. It means that you are following the Great Commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39).
