Sermon Snippets: 5 August 2018
Below are some key points from this past Sunday's sermon. Thank you so much for being a part of our church, we need you to reach the shoreline with the life-changing message of Jesus.
Saved people, serve people.
Jesus has set us free from the power and obligation of the law, but that doesn’t mean we’re supposed to act like a college freshman. Freedom doesn’t equal a license to do whatever we want whenever we want.
When we wander and drift away from Jesus is when the selfishness creeps back in: do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. In other words, stay close to Jesus and as you do you will sacrificially love and serve people.
Can I be honest for a moment.... The number one reason we don’t have the time and energy to serve is because we’re preoccupied with our own selfish wants and desires.
Christians serve, its who we are and what we do. Saved people, serve people.
Self-centeredness destroys communities and churches. 8000 churches will close by the end of 2018. And they will close because of self-centeredness. Jesus-centered, serving, sacrificial churches don’t close! They realize that their neighbors, in and out of the church, are more important than themselves!
When you see a need, meet it!
When something needs done, do it!
