There are so many reasons why we should read our Bibles, but here are just a few: Draws us closer to Jesus. Protects us from sin. Keeps us focused on what matters. And so many more! Below is a simple Bible study method to help you understand and apply God's Word!

S for Scripture
Have a passage in mind to study. We suggest having a Bible reading plan. In the coming days we will be adding some options. Take your time reading the passage and allow God to speak to you. When you are finished, was there a verse or theme that spoke to you? Write it in your journal, Bible or on a piece of paper.

O for Observation
Next just observe what's going on in the passage: Who is speaking? Who is listening? What do you think God is saying through this Scripture? Are there any instructions to follow? What can you learn? And so on. Jot down any observations you gathered.

A for Application
Personalize what you have read by asking yourself how the Bible applies to your life right now.  Record in your journal how this Scripture can apply to you today.

P for Prayer
Pray. Simply, talk to Jesus about what you just read and studied. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say as well. Write out a prayer if that is helpful.
